Artillery
Artillery
Artillery revolutionised modern combat and in the process, killed the most troops out of all other weapons in World War One. They were heavy machines that were required to be shot stationery to compensate for the recoil, as well as for more stability. Artillery in World War One functioned very similarly to mortars, however, were significantly more heavy and powerful. Artillery was shot at a range, firing large projectiles which had the ability to wipe out a large amount of troops, equipment and destroy targets. Artillery was useful for both attackers and defenders, granting the user a massive advantage over the opposition.
